The text below comes from the second half of Tobit, Chapter 11 (with some omissions). You will see that the storyteller has taken special care in organizing this homecoming: first, Thobias arrives with Raphael (Azarias), so that we can savor the reunion of Thobias and his father, followed by a separate scene marking the arrival of Thobias's new bride. And, of course, just as there had been a celebration of the wedding in Media, there needs to be a celebration here in Assyria, too! |
