The text below comes from the first half of Tobit, Chapter 4 (with some omissions). Remember back in Chapter 1, how Thobi had once traveled to Rages in Media, where he deposited money with a man named Gabael? That is how the stories of Thobi and Sara are going to start to be knit together: Tobit will send his son to Media, which is also were Sara lives. Rages and Ecbatana were probably about 200 miles distant from one another (and Ecbatana itself was about 400 miles from Nineveh, Tobit's home). |
